Honorary Life President
Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Law Hieng Ding 丹斯里拿督斯里刘贤镇

Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Law Hieng Ding served as Deputy President of the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) and a Member of Parliament for the Constituency of Sarikei, Sarawak P207. Before entering the political arena, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Law served as a Senior Executive in a private conglomerate in Sarawak. He has served as Parliamentary Secretary at various ministries in the Federal Government of Malaysia namely the Ministry of Housing and Local Government in 1976 and Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (MOSTE) from 1976 to 1987. He was a Member of Parliament for the constituency of Sarikei starting 1982, for 6 consecutive terms. He was Federal Deputy Minister of MOSTE, where he served for 2 terms from 1987 to 1990, after which he was appointed as the Minister of MOSTE from 1990 to 2004. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Law served as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Complete Logistic Services Berhad since July 2, 2007 until August 22, 2017. He served as an Independent Non Executive Director of JAKS Resources Berhad since February 3, 2011 until March 22, 2013. He served as Director of INS Bioscience Bhd from April 6, 2005 to June 15, 2007. He graduated from Nanyang University in Singapore in 1960 with a Bachelor’s degree of Commerce in Accountancy and Banking. An advocate for Sino-Malaysian relations and trade, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Law brought to fruition the Sino-Malaysian Friendship Forest in China to commemorate 30 years of Sino-Malaysian friendship. He also initiated and oversaw the signing of MOU between the Malaysian Government and China Aerospace Agency and is now serving as the Councillor of the Tourism Malaysia China Market Advisory Council. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Law was also the recipient of many professional awards, including the Malaysia Chemistry Institute Honorary Gold Medal award, Malaysia Engineering Institute Honorary Fellowship Award and the Malaysia Quality Institute Gold Medal Award. He also authored a book, Environmental Governance in Malaysia: Insights and Reflections, which was published in 2003.

Dato’ Dr. Eric Law Sie Harn 拿督刘世衔医生 DIMP

Dato’ Dr. Eric graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons International and proceeded to complete his post-grad at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, Singapore National Eye Centre and National University of Singapore. He is a qualified ophthalmologist, a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. He eventually ventured into entrepreneurship resulting in the establishment of Oleander Group of companies, with primary interest in the extraction, bottling and marketing of natural mineral water (the first and still the most dominant player in East Malaysia) and other beverages. He also served as Chairman of the Board. Furthermore, he established enterprises across many sectors including IT, property development, construction, as well as furniture manufacturing and export. He was the architect and promoter in the acquisition of Oleander Enterprise Sdn Bhd by Sime Darby Bhd, one of the largest conglomerates in Malaysia and South East Asia, to form Sime Oleander Sdn Bhd, the largest bottled water enterprise in East Malaysia. He was also the promoter and facilitator in the acquisition of Sime Oleander Sdn Bhd by F&NCC Beverages Sdn Bhd, another giant conglomerate in South East Asia, to form Borneo Springs Sdn Bhd, the leading bottled water bottler in the F&N group of companies. Last but not least, he is the initiator, founder, and president of MIECA, as well as Malaysia International Communication Association (MICA / PPAM / 马来西亚国际交流协会).

Ericsson Law Yi Seng 刘裔生

B.S. (Bioproducts & Biosystems Engineering)

Ericsson graduated from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities with a Bachelor of Science in Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering as well a minor in Chemistry. While in Minnesota, he actively participated in research of biofuel cells and ethylene glycol sensors under reknowned researchers and professors plying their trade at the university. A top student in his class, he was offered to continue on at the university for his Masters and/or Doctorate but decided to try his hand in a different line of work. He is also a performing arts graduate of the esteemed Beijing Film Academy (BFA / 北京电影学院), a globally reknowned film academy based out of Beijing, China. BFA’s admission rate is one of the lowest in the country, as well as globally. Admission is extremely competitive. Over 100,000 students apply annually to participate in entrance exams, from which only 400 to 500 students are accepted. For over forty years, BFA graduates have won national and international acclaim for their contributions to film and television. Their notable alumni include directors, producers, screenwriters, as well as actors and actresses. Last but not least, Ericsson is also the deputy president of Malaysia International Communication Association (MICA / PPAM / 马来西亚国际交流协会).

She also serves as director in various private companies. She is a dedicated medical professional and humanitarian. She is also the vice president of MICA / PPAM /马来西亚国际交流协会.

Datin’ Annie Ting Ang Nee 拿汀陈安妮

Datin’ Annie graduated from the Accounting and Business College Ireland with professional qualifications in accounting. She serves as director at various private firms. She is also the vice president of MICA / PPAM /马来西亚国际交流协会.

Robert Foong 冯成钦
LLB (Hons)

Robert graduated with a Bachelor of Law (Hons) from the University of London. He was the private secretary to Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Law Hieng Ding from 1991 to 2004 when Tan Sri retired from office. He is a staunch and dedicated member of Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Law’s political team. He was bestowed a Federal Award, Ahli Mangku Negara (A.M.N.) by His Majesty, the King of Malaysia. As a government officer, he received the much-coveted award, Certificate for Excellent Service in 1997 and 2001. He served as principal private secretary to the Federal Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation from 2004 to 2008 and subsequently to Federal Deputy Minister of Works from 2008 to 2012. He then went on to join a well-established company as regional director for East Malaysia for three years and subsequently as director of Human Resources and Administration. Aside from his accomplishments in his work life, he is also very active in voluntary organizations. His wealth of experience with both public and private sectors has greatly enhanced his capabilities assets. He is also the vice president of MICA / PPAM /马来西亚国际交流协会.

Ting Anna 陈安娜

Ting Anna graduated from a Canadian university with a Bachelor of Science. She plied her trade as Human Resources manager at subsidiary companies of Sime Darby Bhd and F&N Beverages Sdn Bhd for over 20 years. She was also one of the founding members of Oleander Group of companies alongside Dato’ Dr. Eric Law. She is currently the special assistant to the president of MIECA. She is also the secretary of MICA / PPAM /马来西亚国际交流协会.

Hii Chiat 许捷

B.Com.

Hii Chiat graduated from a Canadian university with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Post graduation, he worked as a credit officer and later branch manager at Delta Finance Bhd, one of the leading financial institutions in East Malaysia, which later merged to form RHB bank, one of Malaysia’s leading banks. From his time in the banking and finance industry, he had accumulated a wealth of experience. Aside from banking and finance, he has also ventured into and plied his trade in other sectors such as construction, timber trading, and chemical industries. He is also the treasurer of MICA / PPAM /马来西亚国际交流协会.

Zhang Yu 张彧

Zhang Yu is a citizen of the People’s Republic of China and has a master in research. He is the vice president of CGCA. He was formerly a journalist at Xinhua News Agency, vice director (celebrated think tank) of China’s Strategy Management Department, vice general manager of Zhong Zhan Lan Ming Investment Co. Ltd., assistant to the president of China-Malaysia Friendship Association, vice chief secretary of and assistant to the president of CGCA. He participated in the coordination and organization of the Bo’ao Forum for Asia, APEC Industry and Commerce Leaders Summit, China-US Clean Energy Pragmatic Cooperation Strategy Forum, Euro-Asia Summits, Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Leaders Summit, Belt and Road International Summit Forum, as well as many other major international conferences. His vast amount of experience in academic research and public diplomacy will prove to be a huge asset to MIECA. He is also the special advisor to the president for MICA / PPAM /马来西亚国际交流协会.

Chris Sy Choon Yen 施钧彦太平局绅 JP

Chris is the Chief Executive Director at SPR Energy (M) Sdn Bhd. He graduated with a Bachelor of Law (Hons) from Manchester University, England. He is a Barrister-at-Law of England and Wales and an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. He is also a Justice of Peace. His wealth of experience and extensive knowledge in business and law will prove beneficial with MIECA.

Amir Shariffuddin Bin Md Hamidi 阿米尔哈米迪

Amir graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Marketing. He plied his trade as procurement executive at Equator Engineering Sdn Bhd before joining Syarikat Osmania Logistics Sdn Bhd as Executive Director in 2005. He was involved in JKH telecommunication work for Telekom Malaysia (TM) and oversaw over 20 fiber optic teams to fulfill the High Speed Broadband (HSBB) contract for TM. He is also working with Unifi and is currently overseeing 350 installation teams nationwide. In 2013, Amir ventured into Solar PV generation with two partners to participate in the Feed-in Tariff (FiT) program under the Sustainable Energy Development Authority Malaysia (SEDA). Their company secured a 21 year Lease Agreement with Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) to install a 1MWp solar PV system on their campus rooftop in Pauh, Perlis, under the FiT program. He is currently holding the position of Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director at Getsol Sdn Bhd.

Angus is an active entrepreneur bringing along 30 years of experience in multiple fields of business. On top of that, he was also appointed to the audit committee of a public listed company. Choong Kar Weng 钟嘉荣

Kar Weng graduated with Bachelor of Law (Hons). While practicing law in Singapore, he enrolled in a master’s programme in business administration. After acquiring his MBA, he returned to Malaysia in 2000 and was tasked to expand Macy, which led to the formation of Macy Home Furnishings. He handled the business meticulously and soon branched out. Though Macy faced some challenging times, Kar Weng managed to pull through and business has grown steadily since. He took the initiative to restructure the family’s various business interest including Macsk Design, Minlon Land and Macy Realty. Business aside, Kar Weng is also a staunch believer in giving back to society. In 2011, he embarked on a massive project that engaged 12 of Malaysia’s top celebrities to design sofas and the proceeds from their sale went to benefit the Yayasan Chow Kit, an organization dedicated to helping at-risk children.

Anson Lim Chai Kim 林财金

Anson graduated from the University of Reading, England with a Bachelor of Science in Food Science. He worked as a food scientist at various conglomerates including Mark & Spencer’s, Tailors of Harrogate, Nestle, as well as Lot 10 Hutong. He also worked as a Food and Beverage consultant for YTL Automedome. He is currently sitting on the board of directors for 4G Hotel Services Sdn Bhd, Taska Edufirst Sdn Bhd, and Preston Resources Sdn Bhd. He recently signed a major defense contract with the Royal Malaysian Navy and a business contract with Genting Bhd.

Kevin graduated from York University Canada with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business. Upon returning to Malaysia, he was involved in the entertainment and Food and Beverage industry for over 10 years. He became the director of procuring new businesses for Binet System Sdn Bhd and JNI System Sdn Bhd. He was a partner at GR Securities, a security consultancy company until late 2015, when he ventured into IFly, a startup travel tech company.

Joseph Ting 陈约瑟

Joseph is an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. He was conferred his Bachelor of Social Science majoring in Law and Economics with Honors (Second Class Upper) from the University of Keele in 1989 and completed his Certificate of Legal Practice in 1990 and was called to the Bar on 4 October 1991. He is the founder of Messrs Joseph Ting & Co, Advocates and Solicitors and he has been in active practice of law for more than 25 years. Over time, he has cumulated vast experience in various areas of law. His scope of exposure in the legal practice is wide-ranging and includes areas of law pertaining to corporate, commercial drafting, complex land transaction and civil litigation matters. His extensive experience includes advising clients on complex legal issues, as well as regulatory and administrative requirements.

Brent is a co-founding law firm partner and lawyer based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with ample experience in the commercial and corporate sector, real estate legal agreements and approvals, as well as civil litigation and compliance. He is also well-versed with Chinese Law, the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI 一带一路倡议), and is an office bearer. Brent guides Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and private companies in entering the relevant commercial contracts & business agreements, while also strategizing the legal methods and setups to maximize the companies’ legal earnings and business potential. He also advises on regulatory compliance. He has extended his services to emerging businesses and tech start-ups in local laws and to secure new business capital and funding. Haji Nazaleq Bin Haji Zainuddin 纳莎乐

Nazaleq graduated

With a degree in engineering specializing in aircraft maintenance from the Leonard Issit Training Center in New Zealand, he later obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Universiti Teknologi MARA and a Master of Education (MEd) from Wawasan Open University.

He began his professional career as an engineer at Malaysia Airlines System Berhad, subsequently serving as a Senior Executive Manager overseeing the engineering department. From 2008 to 2015, he held the position of Vice President of the Engineering Department at Malaysia Airlines System Berhad. Following this, he ventured into professional consulting for aviation, industrial, and general trade firms. He has been the Managing Director of Pakaravia Solutions Sdn Bhd since 2018.

Aamir Nordin Ariffin 阿米尔诺丁阿里芬

Aamir trained as a chartered accountant in New Zealand after graduating from the University of Otago, NZ, with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He is a chartered accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. Dato’ Sri Dr. Weeliik Liew 拿督斯里劉韋利醫生
Strategic Advisor – East Malaysia

Dato’ Sri Dr. Liew is a seasoned and deeply respected medical specialist. He qualified with several distinctions from the Queen’s University Belfast, obtained his housemanship from Manchester Royal Infirmary, and was a lecturer in anatomy at the University of Manchester. He is a fellow of the royal college of surgeons (FRCS) Edinburgh and Ireland, as well as a fellow at Mayo Clinic USA. He was also on general and cardiothoracic rotation at Manchester Royal Infirmary, and is on cardiothoracic surgery rotation at London Crest Hospital, St. Barts, as well as Royal London Hospital. He was the first ever Malaysian and British cardiothoracic surgeon to be awarded the prestigious “Young Investigator Award”. He is currently a pioneering consultant cardiothoracic surgeon in East Malaysia, and boasts several firsts such as Atrial Fibrillation Surgery, Ross Procedure, and Minimal Incision (Minimally Invasive) Surgery. A true master of his art, Dato’ Sri Dr. Liew also has several publications under his belt. He was awarded the Panglima Setia Bintang Sarawak (PSBS) and Sri Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang 1st Class (SSAP) for his medical services.

Shafiq graduated from SEGi College with a Diploma in Mass Communication and Bachelors in Public Relations. He currently serves as director for Research and Development (R&D) at Asia Tank Trading (M) Sdn Bhd, as well as a director at Alpha Newton Solution.

Tengku Aslahuddin obtained his BSc in Management and focus in Human Resources Management at Wallace E. Carroll School of Management. Early on in his career post tertiary education, he served as Public Relations Executive at Berjaya Times Square Sdn Bhd, Special Project Manager at V-Kool Sdn Bhd, as well as Human Resource Executive at Syarikat Pesaka Antah Sdn Bhd. He is currently the Managing Director at Tijaz Corporation Sdn Bhd, whose primary focus is on palm oil based cooking oil, as well as the Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Vape Hub Sdn Bhd, a manufacturer and producer of vape liquids working together with pioneers of the vape industry in Malaysia. Last but not least, Tengku Aslahuddin also serves on the Board of Trustees and is the incumbent Chairman of the Sub-Committee for Tuanku Najihah Foundation. He is also the sitting President of Ikon Belia Bersatu, an organization that specializes in youth entrepreneurial development.
